Oh, the humanity...

Got my plugs smashed in yesterday. Broad daylight on what is usually not a deserted street (Townsend). They used a big chunk of asphalt, and just smashed mercilessly. Perhaps even more annoying is that they don't seem to have gotten a nice chunk of the porcelain. It's mostly still there. I think they just smashed them down deep enough that they couldn't get the rock in there to break it apart.

So feel free to vent about how crappy a place SF is. Today, I won't argue the point.

Shit. That just sucks. I am heading to SF early next month, always have liked it there. Shitty people pretty much everywhere, but cities are always the worst.

Why the fuck would somebody do that?

Maybe I'm totally clueless ... but I've never heard of that happening. That's awful.

This was covered in detail in another thread. Jeeeeez, where ya been? The consensus was crack pipe / ninja rocks. Look up "ninja rocks" on wikipedia for an explanation. From multiple reports from different users, San Fran seems to be the world capital of crack smoking / ninja rocking and the word seems to be out among crackheads / car thieves that airheads have by far the easiest spark plugs to get to.

What's worst is the buildup of rage in my soul.

But, yeah, the fins take a beating. Sorry to say, but some of that fin damage is from prior attacks. This particular crack-ninja just takes it for blunt stupidity, however. To do all that damage and not get more of the porcelain! And he now has my bike on his radar.

This pretty much shows how effective the system is.

A nice center punch will do the trick as well, and be reusable. But if the cops find you carrying a center punch around, you are busted for intent. The rocks are disposable, and have a fun name that entertains the crackheads.

Holy smokes! (pun?) I had no idea. I've evidently been under a different rock...

That makes it suck all the more, I thought it was a random act of aggressive stupidity....

Wow, if I were you, I think my head would just explode. I just can't imagine a person doing that.

+1

If I caught someone doing that to a bike I think I'd go ballistic.

I worry a little about what I would do if I caught the guy in flagrante.

"But your honor, he was bashing in my heads!"

"But you bashed in his head!"

Holy Fuck !!!

Man that would anger me just a tad.

God would I kill for the opportunity to meet such an artist.

I could see it now in The Chronicle…;
"SUICIDE JUMPER OFF THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE AT 4AM holding only a chunk of asphalt on way down, the only witness was one lone motorcycle rider that seemed so terribly upset by the event he couldnt help but smile".

Jeez, that sucks. I feel for you mate.
I'd be looking at some kind of steel guard that bolts onto the head bolts maybe. Keep the plugs out of sight and reasonably inaccessible.

Edit: Just looked at an engine and it'd be tough to find anywhere to bolt some kind of guard on.
