I liked the design of the track, the placement of the features, and that the condition changed over the course of the race. As far as why the dirt was so bad, I suppose it was just over watered?

It slowed down the pace, and forced the riders to think a tick more about line selection. Ie we saw rd picking his way through the rut section. Add more sand pits and wall jumps and even a mud section-it makes for more interesting racing.

Dirt was frozen, then thawed when inside.

Maybe I read into some peoples "bad karma" comments too much. Though I imagine wishing\hoping\liking bad karma on someone would be bad karma on yourself......if you believe in that sort of thing.

Exactly. Our local indoor mx track is completely frozen dirt. It's an absolute dustbin and gets destroyed rather quickly. I can't imagine what it'd be like if you had that many pro's running the track for a couple hours.

I will say I rather liked seeing the guys tip-toe through the whoops.

But would you want to be riding at absolute full chat and land on slippery plywood half sideways off a jump? I suppose riding at the pro level means taking it as it comes. To me that looked like a slow paced race where guys were mainly trying not to get hurt.

>"slow paced race where guys were mainly trying not to get hurt."

The track just needed a wee bit more dirt... and more sand.

Should be an indoor version of MX. Dirt. Rough. Mud. Sand.
Lots of of the recent indoor tracks are 'graded' just like TT tracks.
IMHO: Boring.

Might make the tracks a bit more like... well, 'enduro' tracks.
Not with huge tires and big rocks... but a just bit more like 'outdoor'.
Looking forward to Daytona.

And Endurocross rock hill section would be interesting.

Supercross is SX,high flying jumps, big berms, brutal whoops. Outdoor MX already exists as does Endurocross, slowing down SX is not what most people are looking for.

Daytona will bring out the tough guys though, that's the one for sure outdoor flavored/SX race on the calendar.

Did you not see him take out Tickle? I wouldn't wish anyone harm either, but I probably could understand if Brock did?

I saw that race incident yes. I also saw a couple weeks earlier Dungey take out himself & Villopoto. I also saw a 450 rider in the Indy LCQ knock another rider clear off the track and it was deemed "yah gotta do what yah gotta do" by all the commentators.

Not like it's new in the sport.....People just seem to really hate Alessi

The Alessi incident was not deemed "yah gotta do what yah gotta do" by anyone other than #800.

Can't argue that one bit. Even he admitted he messed up.

Notice how 800 stands on the other rider's bike so he can't pick it up. Classic Alessi.
