Our local NorCal SX moves to the brand new 49ers stadium in Santa Clara this year. It will be interesting to see what those prices are. My uncle has had 49er season tickets for decades but is being priced out of keeping them in the new stadium. And then there is the new seat-license fee.....

Oakland is still on the series. Maybe they moved Seattle to Santa Clara?

Wow! Just checked the schedule. Oakland week 4 and Santa Clara at the end of the series! I'm stoked!

Crazy that the 4 time champ loses the race in his hometown.

Who is it that you think, "cannot handle the rigors"?

Do you think the racers owe their life to you and other watchers?

I doubt that McGrath cares if you have a "problem" with the way he worked. He made millions at his job. He did what he wanted to do. Sounds like a good deal to me.

Wasn't talking to you. Or MC for that matter. It's my opinion and you're entitled to hear/read it. And spout your concern about it as well. And I will care as much as MC does. So have at it.

And yes without the guys (like me) who spend the money (you?) to attend the races and eat the overpriced shitty racetrack food they'd be doing something less profitable for a living. So in the end yes they owe me.

The money that has become the driving force behind racing has diluted "the experience" for me and no doubt many others. And if indeed the prices have doubled I may be done with it for awhile. I know I won't pay that much when it's free on the box at home.

Besides there's nothing like a race at High Point after it rains all week. Only the Daytona SX can even come close to that. And only sometimes.

Question NOS buttons

When JS went out with the mechanical, the announcers were talking about some kind of system used for starts that's on the right fork leg. Googling turned up this launch control system. Unlike F1, these announcers don't spend half the race talking about the tech. What other rad stuff is on these bikes that isn't obvious?

Traction control. Launch control. Data logging. Video overlay to compare rider lines and find optimal lines through tracks. I forget the name of the system they use. Popular in many other sports.

For some reason they seem to downplay the technology they are using in these bikes and riders.

It's not traction control like you think. It's just a device that locks the forks in a compressed position to keep the bike from wheelying on launch. First time you hit the brakes it's supposed to release. Apparently JS's did not.

It's $110 and you can buy it here.

Traction control and launch control (beyond the start device)? I don't think so. There are no wheel speed sensors on the bikes, so how would they be controlling these systems? Data logging? Maybe to a limited extent, but there are no suspension sensors or wheel speed sensors so what are thay logging? Track position and video overlay, yes.
