I never said they weren't a benefit to downed riders. I'm all for helping downed riders I've helped quite a few in the last 5 years. My point about Asterisk is that they are undisciplined and over zealous to the point of throwing some of the basic principles of their craft to the wind. Which is fine if you're golfing or cooking but when it comes to emergency medical treatment it is kind of a given that you proceed with caution and discipline. If they aren't up on the nuances of the sport (they clearly aren't) they should perhaps take the time to learn them and then maybe they'd have a better understanding (they clearly don't) of the environment they are operating in. They are not part of the race and that concept is obviously something they just don't get.

One thing I don't like about the new format, is that the heats are too short. The heats need to be 8 laps. - 6 laps puts too much emphasis on the start, which is one of the reasons that Alessi got his heat win.

He should be. Then he might be a multi-time champion.

I know that you are joking, but......

Baker includes lots of bicycle riding in his training program. RD may not train with Baker, but he does lots and lots of bike training. Dungey is an animal in the bicycle. For 2 years now (maybe 3), he has lead a bike ride the day after the MX national at Mill Creek. It is not a mountain ride, but it does go up and down the hilliest region of Mn, between the Mississipi and St Croix rivers. I was out riding last year and happened on the course and some of the uphills were freaking brutal.
