RD would, I think. Of any of the current crop, I think he'd do best.
Maybe Gordon can have a bike division. Team fail

+1 Having them all live and on the same channel is a BIG plus.

I pick RD because of the very thing he gets hacked on for here: being Mr Steady, and letting the race come to him. He's thinking about the risks, evaluating whether or not they're necessary.

That will win him rallies. Many can ride, few can manage their situation at speed. He's got talent plus brains. That is Dakar material.

So I'm hearing he should hire the Alessi boys.

They do know how to cheat already...

Not the strangest thing to ponder. Danny LaPorte turned his sights to the Dakar Rally after his MX career was over. And he is still the top finishing American in the rally's history. 2nd place in 1993.

I know of Kini's success in Dakar, though never able to get that elusive 1st place, and that his background was MX. I not as well versed on the other Dakar top dogs and what their backgrounds are. I know many have enduro backgrounds.

Laia Sanz, hands down. Not the best, but certainly my favorite.

What about when Barcia was closing in. RD checked his 5:00 saw Barcia could put the Bam on him. RD railed the out side berm faster then ever, and left Barcia searching for traction (it was a beautiful move). RD has the fight. He's look'n to not be taken out (or take himself out) of the series.
