They shit the bed. Will Villopoto do this? No way. But that doesn't mean he can't get hurt. Or have an event where his bike breaks. Or not qualify for a main event. Both of these things ave happened to RV2.

How did the Kansas City Chiefs do after that 9-0 start?
Probably not as well on their drug tests as RV did?

they had a huge hole shot and then coughed up a big lead late.

RV is obviously very capable of winning the series. to say he's got it wrapped up after 4 of 16 races is a tad presumptuous.

or just plain lose races. he's one of the best on the planet. maybe the best on the planet. but he's got some very close company in that category and the other guys know it. 2014 could go down in history as the greatest season ever if everything falls right. what a damn shame Milsapps and Canard got hurt.

and Met Life stadium may be the hot ticket in April....

Exactly. Stewart and Reed are showing nearly equal or faster lap times and they are healthy and confident. You have riders other than poto laying down fastest practice laps.

Dont forget that rv's current lead over second is amplified by stewart wadding it at a1.

To claim Poto has it locked at this point is a ridiculous statement.

A lot that could happen, Dungey could again take him out in a corner;)

How many Anaheim races are we up to now? Remind me, when is a8 scheduled?

IMHO: No doubt, VP is fastest rider...
he will win unless he gets hurt or has somebody take him out.

One of the things he has learned... just ride fast enough to stay in front.

Wow! What a bunch of doubters.

Still, to say that Villipoto has the championship in hand is a safer bet than that he will win A8.

Or to name a winner for A3.

RV will be 26 in August.

Reed will be 32 in March.

Stewart just turned 28 in December.

Dungey turned 24 in December.

RV has won the title 3 years running and has won 2 of the first 4 races.

His youngest rival has shown a long term lack of killer instinct.

His main competition at this point appears to be from older guys in a young mans game. He may win it and if he does 4 in a row speaks for itself. The fact that 2 guys spotting him a combined 8 years are going to at least keep him honest and at best end his streak means he's got a lot of work ahead of him and maybe just maybe fate deals him what it's dealt Stewart and Reed for the past few years. I don't wish him any bad luck I hope it comes down to the last race winner take all between Reed/Stewart/Ryan/Ryan.
