Assen or Brno MotoGP ?

Just wondering if any advridrs where planning on attending the Assen or Brno round of the MotoGP series.

I'm planning an extended trip through Northern Europe this summer and would like to attend one of these races and it would be a lot more fun if I could meet up with some locals willing to show a stranger around.

Thanks,
Hugh

I went to Brno GP a couple of years ago and it was fantastic. Beautiful track with great viewing, cheap beer and reasonable accommodations.

D.

What he ^^^^said. Been to Assen a few times for MotoGP, Supers, and German Supers. (And Centenial Meetings....wow!) the atmosphere and crowd is just great, and almost always good close racing that's is seriously fast.

But really, Brno is just fantastic! Visit Prague on the way, take the back roads....
Czech, beautiful country, beautiful people.

Which brings me to the Beer, and the way it's delivered at the track...

My brother in law goes to Prague once or twice a year and my wife went last winter.
I can't wait to get there and it will be scheduled around the GP!
They all love it there and love the people as well as the beer!

Some old pix, from my second visit, 2008..

Some bloke. In the dark, rain, going 2.5 faster than anyone....

Same bloke, throwing out the anchor.

Sorry, had to do it. Pity about the crash. Bugger.

REALLY GOOD Beer. Cheap. Big Smiles. Perfect.

Thanks for the responses. I think I'll plan on stopping at the Brno round. This will be closer to the end of my trip which would be preferable to Assen which would be at the beginning of my trip. I don't think I would want to stop for 2 or 3 days after only being on the road for a week anyways.

I'm getting ready to buy my tickets for Brno. Do you have any recommendation on the best viewing area? Is it worth getting grandstand tickets or should I just go for General Admission.

thanks,
Hugh

General admission is great. There are multiple viewing areas that are fantastic.

^^^^^^ for sure. It's well worth going on all days, as you can get quite close to the circuit in some places during practice and Q. Not so easy on race day...

(That's assuming anyone bothers going....could have a no spectator rule by then? )
