I just finished this design and want to see what you folks think. Here in Arizona, it's hard not to drop it in the rocks, and the stock Magnesium covers just dont hold up against rock. These are made from solid 6061 T6 Aluminum, and are more than a quarter on an inch thick in the face area where the stockers are prone to cracking. They use all the original harware and stock O ring.
Thoughts, comments, love em, hate em? Let me know what you think. Thanks, Here's a Link to some larger images if you like.

Nice!!!
I'd have paid more for these beauties than the $50 cover patches most of us are using, but don't need 'em unless the stick-ons fail. Do you also have the clutch side?

This is the clutch side, and it was built because the stick on one failed miserably to do it's job in a mild fall. The stick ons are only about .060" thick. These are .300" thick.

That's the big question. The competition will be the CFC case savers. You can achieve the same results for about $20 with them. Yours is much nicer, seeing that the CFC is just a thin plate that you stick to the factory one with silicone, but it does the same thing cheap. It could be more than the CFC because it is a nicer product, but not by much. I don't think you could go over $50 and count on selling many.

I'll give you $100 right now for one for the other side...
![]() Seriously - I think it's a great piece, and sorely needed. How much is a new one from Suzuki? That should tell you what it could go for. The CFC bits are better than nothing, but you are right about the real protection value. IMO they are just a cheap band-aid covering the real problem - eggshell cases. |

I just got a price for a stock replacement cover, $96.50. I'll set the price for these at $90.00. Sound fair?

Based on what I have paid for some of the aftermarket parts for my DRZ, that seems like a really good price. Have you checked with the Thumpertalk folks about marketing it to the DRZ folks via their website? There's a big DRZ group over there.

Thanks
I did not try Thumper Talk. I'll send them an email and try it out. I sold four already, and I havent advertised anywhere but here and a friend of mine put one on Ebay. It started at $90 and sold for $127.
