Im takin some notes for the havasu ride. Steelwind has had some hampering matters preventing him from being able to plan. Luckily Im just as disorganized. Anybody plannin on coming please PM me your carrier pigeon's color or your cell number, bike type and location of origin for the purpose of unexpected delays or misdirections.

Yes! Something desert stealthy.

I missed the first rule of crash witnessing...take pictures, then ask if they're OK.

I'll learn.

LOL guys,,,,

river, the DS helmet or the ZOX in particular? i like the DS helmet thing,,, the zox is comfy but could use some improvements, it can be loud and when i turn my head in rain some spray comes in. they dont seem to offer this helmet or parts, like the shield or peak i now would like to replace.

I have tried a few routes. DurtKlod posted the tracks I have.
- The blue route has the least pavement - comes out in a wash on the Havasu end.
- The red route (on the Havasu end) comes out of Lake Havasu Heights and is the most technical riding I have found out there. It's just rocky and hilly but only for a short distance. Easy to hook into the blue route in a couple places.
- Light blue bypasses the crossing north of Alamo Lake if it's wet. I don't know a way to get back to the north so you're forced to come out in Parker. The National Wildlife Refuge is gated (locked).
- A lot of the magenta near Yarnell/Bagdad area is paved. It was wet when we went through and snowed a little so we skipped any dirt.

Hey Durtklod or Yardstick, i tried the link to NS's GPX tracks for these. didnt work. is there another way to get them or should i try his website?

Heya JT,
Sorry to have not responded sooner...
I was going to try and fix the link for you but I can't find where you got that quote from.
Try Nightstalkers site. It might take some looking around to find 'em but his site is pretty organized.

JT, some of the west end of the red route looks like where I was Tuesday a week ago. It's a little ruff but passable out in that area. All two track far as I know. Certainly didn't cover it all but lots of tracks thru that area. We ended up heading back north-west before getting close to Alamo Lake.

See ya Saturday.
