Be a little loose sand for a short stretch at the Walker cutoff.
I would take the KLR the easy way to CK I have been the back way on smaller bikes.

It will probably be a couple of weeks before I go. I have both boys home this weekend. I would slab it up to bumble Bee and slab it back from Kirkland Jct. I will let you know when I plan to go.

I would plan on lunch in CK

If you're going to CK aff I-17, it'll be a wee bit more challenging from CK to Wagoner. From there on to Kirkland Junction will be as easy as off I-17 to CK.

If you wouldn't wanna take the KLR from Lake Pleasant up the regular route to CK, I can't recommend for or against CK to Wagoner not knowing your particular skill level.

I did it at night a few weeks ago.

The back way to ck has only one bad spot that would be tricky on the KLR. That is the rocky stream bed. The rest is cake

The rocky stream bed has been graded. The current tricky spot is a pretty steep hill climb with lots of rocks... (34.099162, -112.365526). But, since there are two choices at that point, perhaps I picked the harder choice.

If you made it all the way to Crown King the back way on that 1200, I don't think ANYBODY should be kidding you about being a weekend Starbucks rider anymore. Consider that your initiation to the next level!
Just after that is a bit of a challenge as well...

Bill took a nap right there...

This is exactly where I laid it down! Right in that freaking rut halfway up the picture!!! Makes my heart pump just looking at that picture! I would have been stuck if it weren't for an English couple coming down the hill in a yellow Polaris ATV. They helped me lift and turn the pig around so I could get a run at it again. They gave me a cold water and consoled my damaged ego! His name was John, a great big mountain of a guy! I was utterly thrashed when I got home... Dumbest thing I ever did, almost... I'm looking for a smaller bike, a little 250, I think that would be the bees knees for all these fabulous dirt trails. Did you ride CK today? Thanks for the kind words! Geeze, can't believe it still affects my heart rate after all this time... That's why the tag I posted is only as far in as it is...Not again until knobbies...oops, I think I may have inadvertently given away another clue..Oh well, silly me....

No, I haven't been able to get out but I am taking the kids out to Boulders tomorrow. Did your work schedule lighten up yet?

Looks like we are going to have it wrapped up by Tuesday or Wednesday next week! I have a few work things to tidy up tomorrow but will hopefully have the afternoon off...Where's Boulders? Sounds fun.

Boulders OHV riding area... On the 74 west of Lake Pleasant about 10 miles, north side of the road.
