That's no way to have a gunfight.... The first rule of a gunfight is TO HAVE A GUN

If 4 out of 5 people SUFFER from diarrhea...does that mean that one out of five enjoys it?

When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

Beemer pre-maintenace prayer

Yeah,

Though I walk into the garage, I will fear no evil
Thy torque wrench, and thy Climer's manual comfort me

Thou prepares a clean work space during regular maintenance intervals
Thou leadth me to an abundance of oil threads, my heady explody

Surly I will not ham-fist the valve cover bolts,
I will review JVB productions DVD for ever and ever.

Amen

Sneaks up on you

Spent last week up in Anniston helping a friend with one of his company's projects. He moved his family and many employees there from another state last year in a quest for a more prosperous business and simpler life. This friend of over 30 years often cautioned others against working too hard and resting too little. He forsook his own advice and is losing most of the transplanted employees while watching his own blood run as well. Perhaps he will reach that milestone and once again embrace his core values, before it is too late.
Reminds me of an old saying...

"If you're too busy for the things that matter, you're too dang busy"

PS Get well soon Davebert

Eting,
I know the feeling. When I was younger I was always working the jobs that were 12 hours a day, seven days a week. Then I moved up to an 8 hour a day job that quickly turned into a 12 or 16 hour a day job. People always warned me I would soon burn out and it was not good for me. It took many years to figure it out. I still work on too many things at a time but if I don't, I get bored real quick. Thanks for the get well, I am feeling better now. That crud was a real pain to get rid of.

Pick Teams

There are fifteen "smilies" in the box to the right as I type this, (one of them contains two drunks). Assuming "Norton" () and I choose teams, there will be two 8 man teams and an odd man out...
Who will it be... and why?
  • Grin
  • 1 drink
  • evil
  • rofl
  • huh?
  • Puke1
  • cry
  • ears
  • deal
  • Clap
  • freakingR Trider (either or)
  • Eek
  • lol3
  • Wink
I say "", pretty sure he is rooting for the other team when they score.

If you think your boss is stupid remember; you wouldn't have a job if he was smarter.

I once told a former boss that I was getting paid by the hour. The more mistakes I made, the more hours I got paid for. If he would double my pay, I would have my job done by noon and be gone, instead of milking it. He didn't even fire me!
