He had you right where he wanted. Doubling pay to PREVENT milking the system does not work for long. Once a milker always a milker. He knew that.

When you find the right employer, pay follows productivity... in that order. Unless they decipher your logic (stated above)... then you're branded.

Actually, he knew I was a hard worker and that I was messing with him. He gave me the opportunity to learn a skill, and I took it. Then I got paid much better.

That right there is why we build better s**t than the Chinese. We can bash our employer, he has to pay well to keep us from bashing elsewhere for respect, and we both end up sharper. Iron sharpens iron.
