On to Idaho!

OK, Once I was packed up that morning, it was off to IDC! With 1 1/2 gal. of fuel in the tank, I can make it to the next little town with a station,..... It's only 18 miles away. I can't think of the town just north of JHSprings, MT. but it was too damn early for the Sinclair station to be open for business I guess, so I just muttered a few "Brinckin-Brackin-Frackin" like one Yosemite Sam does, and looked down at the map & GPS to see where I must coast into next. Anaconda was my next stop for Gas & something to give me Gas!
Gassed Up I was off to find "38" which would run me past a "Pass & Falls" by the same name. It starts with a SK .......something... The sign really says, Gravel Ahead Stupid!

And the Falls.......

Coming east to west on the 38 road, I ran across an Idaho "Hot Shots" team as they were set up in a camp with about 20-15 tents, Water Truck, Food Wagon and the whole works. I really didn't see allot of smoke anywhere, however they were using this area as a base camp. The road was a little muddy, but not bad at all. Once out to 93, it was south to Salmon, Challis, and Stanley. Well, I just noticed I must have missed a Photo CD from the house, and I have not loaded the disk from IDC to SmugMug.
Anyway,......I just jump in my Trip Machine (My GS) and head North to Canada. On the samn CD is my first days route through Canada thanks to GSPD750 (Wayne) His route took me over 2 Free Fairy Rides, Crawford Bay, Nakusp, Revelstoke, Field, and up the IceFields Pkwy. So, we'll pick up there. I ended up camping along the Icefields Pkwy. in an overflow camping area for one of the campgrounds 30-40 miles North of Lake Louise. A very few campers were in the overflow, which was nice, so I rolled in and set up camp. This is just off the back side of my tent!

Ahhhh, The Fire was Nice as it dipped to 38 deg. that night.

Once the sun finally turned into darkness, I had noticed some Lights in the sky off to the North East. No, not a UFO but it WAS the Northern Lights! It's only the second time I had seen the lights, and they were a bit different this time. Not Allot of color to these, but they sure moved around in different shapes for sure. So, a bit of Red Wine, Cool Temps, The Northern Lights, and I was a Happy Man! Then the Icing on the Cake comes,....A Shooting Star right through the Northern Lights! All is well with the world! Anyway, Starstruck I hit the Hay and ENJOY the NO Humidity of Canada. Next moring it was on up into Jasper, and enjoy the day!

The "Bow Glacier" I believe, in the Columbia Ice Fields was Kick Ass! It was disturbing to see just how FAR the Glacier has receded in the past 100 years. In the next shot, you'll see a small marker out in front of the bike, noting the Glaciers Edge in 1935.

Did i say it was a Golden Day? Well, It was. LAter that day it was back south for the first time in over a week. DAMN! South, and even eastward just a wee bit! I knew the day would come that the GPS would say, Driving Southeast on Blah-Blah, It was a Sad feeling actually until I said to myself, You Fool, Your STILL OUT OF THE COUNTRY, and over 4,000 miles away from Humidity and Home, and Work (Sux), so Shut It! On we go through Canada...

and for those that know me, and know that I like to keep me GS somewhat clean, the above shows it in it's Dirtiest State tpo date.
I know,. so STFU! I venture southward, towards the Chief Mtn. Border Crossing near Babb, Mt. and Glacier N.P. I Love Glacier! .... More in a Bit.....
For some reason I must do some work.......

Boojum!

Where was I...

OK, I need to go back a day to Londview, Alberta, and a visit to the Longview Bar "Hey Bud, Meet me at the Longview Bar"! That's the caption on the Shirt there at the Bar! Anyway, after I find a little motel room, just because I was Dusty and Tired! I go over to the Longview Bar, and am drinking a few Cold Beers and these 2 younger guys (21-22 maybe) are sitting at this table with a Hhhhhhhot young girl. They ask if I'd like to join them, and I said "Is a Pigs Ass Pork"? They said Yep! So I slid over next to Hottie and we started talking & drink a few Kokanee's! A bit later THEY graduated to Pitchers of a Vodka & something, tasted to me like a "Kamikaze".
I soon followed suit by buying the next Pitcher. Ooooooo, and then things got Blurry. The next thing I know is we were shooting Pool, and I'm NOT a Pool Player by any means. Then there were a table of Elder Ladies in the Bar, and were quite full of energy. The next thing I know one of the guys (Dirty Steve) was having one of the ladies "Rub his Feet"! Yes, Rub his feet. They loved him! and his feet! I knew at that time things may get a bit out of hand with these women, and I was in Canada, Drunk, and on a Motorcycle. Dirty Steve, Hottie, and Jerry (The 3) were leaving to go to another little town about 15-20 min. away for another party. I knew then "Run toi the Motel Room"! If not, You could be in a world of HURT come tomorrow. I hung with them for about 3 hrs. but the bring in the dawn with a drink in my hand has long past my 40+ year Old Ass! I still felt it the next morning. Anyway,.......
On to the Border and back to the USA.
Sorry No Pictures of the Longview Bar, and the Drunkeness there.
Next Stop, Waterton-Glacier Int. Peace Park.

....and on into Glacier N.P. for an easy ride over to Polebridge, MT. for a camp out on the Flat Head River.

Looking up to Logan Pass from the east side, going up. Down the west side, and out the DUSTY Gravel up to PoleBridge, to find a camp spot.

More on my meal @ The Northern Lights Saloon coming up...............
