[QUOTE=schwahead;23047761]Woohoo!!! Thanks James and Colleen! Stumbled across your rr yesterday and read all 100 pages already! Loving your writing and up beat attitudes, smiles are contagious!

Looks like the mighty DR is treating the both of you right. Is there any changes you wish you would have or not done to the bikes before leaving?

Godspeed![/QUOTE

I applaud your diligence. I don't think I could go back to page one!
Thanks for taking the time to read our ride!

Well in Mate!

Burned some gas and scooted through the Desierto Suchara!

100 miles of sand dunes and WIND. 225 miles total day.

Spending the night in Chiclayo, Peru.

$7.57 for a room with double bed and en suite shower.

There is a rumor of an ADVrider peoples meet up close by, well within 150 miles, which in the scheme of things is pretty close.

Great day of riding despite the wind and sand blowing. Got some SOLES the Peruvian currency, so we are almost locals now!

Scored a cold 620ml beer for $1.36...it´s Cuenquea Dark, kinda smokey like Taj Mahal...reminds me of Preston and the Indian (with a dot) restaurants.

So, I´m just going to check another thread in 'Latin America'......Christmas in Peru...and find out if this rumor is true!

Will be back shortly if we can get pictures loaded.

I can not upload pictures again tonight.....

We are in a cyber cafe that won´t accept my laptop. I´ll be two days behind now.

The first 100 miles today was fun and fast and the Pan Am took us through lots of little towns and pueblos.

The last 125 miles was a wind storm through the desert. The wind threatened to pull my helmet off my head and then my head off my shoudlers.
It was crazy. The sand blew across the road. There was actually a white out. The pictures will tell the tale!

Far different ride than the beautiful Andes.

Tomorrow night will be a marathon of picture uploading!

Hello Tuckers!

Hi James and Colleen,
What a fantastic trip! We've been following along and just figured out how to post. You seem to be having great fun and meeting some terrific folks. Your posts are amazing in both their frequency and content.
Cannot wait to see you and hear your stories over a bottle or two of Jameson.
Merry Christmas!
Val and Sean.
