That makes sense. Nobody told us though! It's not far from our room if we have to muster.

i'm following...i like you're report style..hotel/cost, food/cost...I'm reading with the idea of how my wife would like these places, as i will ride to a point where she can fly into for a couple weeks, enjoy mexico, and then fly home alone crying because she can't stay longer. Maybe get her hooked :)

See what happens Seamus? You give 'em an inch and they take a mile.
We had to pare down our equipment to allow room for Colleen's make-up kit

tuckers to tdf

Didn't really do a cost report for day four Thursday, here it is, over budget because of some back tracking and getting a higher priced hotel. Remember in your comparative calculations gas and tolls and food are for two bikes, two persons. We pay two gas tanks and two tolls and two meals. I include tip in our cost. I have been giving the gas jockey 10 pesos (80 cents)

First gas stop with tip ................$15.20
Tolls........................................$14.5 6
Second gas stop with tip ............$36.00
Tolls........................................$9.60
Tolls........................................$8.32
Room.......................................$56.00
Dinner with plenty of drinks......... $20.00
Supplies...................................$3.38 (beer and pastry for room)

WE had a Tequila each, a Victoria beer each, 2 dishes of food. Then we got more beer and food for the room. Prices seem very reasonable, except our room which we splurged on. Big tip for the day here......STOP early so you can have a choice of hotel and not be struggling to get settled for the evening.
It started raining again last night, so it was good to be in a nice place and well fed.

Today we head south to Zacetecas.

Ha-ha.... laugh away......

I love riding and traveling..... I'm not a fan of cockroaches, dirty pillows, rotten blankets that should have been thrown out years ago, pubic hairs in the bed that don't belong to James or myself.

I have packed our down sleeping bags, a sheet, our camping pillows and pillow cases.

Many will be the night that I will not crawl in a bed in a room we have rented for the night.

We also have our tent..... You'll have more laughs here..... but the girls will understand....

If I even see something large crawl across the floor (it happened two nights ago) out comes the tent and it is set up on top of the bed.
Now, I am happily going off to dreamland and not wondering what will be crawling on me in the night.

I'm sure there will be a picture posted of this sooner or later.
Happy to report, last night, no sleeping bags, pillows or tents necessary!!!

Hey, the price you pay for traveling with a female!!! There are however perks!

Are you back in France???

It's a struggle Hans to figure this out First you must join SMUGMUG and load your pictures there. Then you can transfer them to ADV quite easily. There are directions to follow. Plus you can get help from SMUGMUG. We are still working out the bugs and internet is so slow and unreliable here that we often get frustrated, plus it takes ages and ages to get anything done It doesn't help that we only jumped on the computer bandwagon so late in life and have been at it a very short time

Hey, and thanks.
You said it, late to the "computer wagon" I try SMUGMUG out to day. I use Picasa, but it seems not to work in this site.
