This is another shot of the mountains that were stacked one after another.
It was so peaceful riding through this area today We soaked it all up!

I removed my iPOD and my music was the sweet sound of the DR650, with the 16/42 at 70mph on the speedo you can still just about hear it firing! You can't actually hear the individual revolutions but to the trained ear it unmistakenly is a big thumper.
Still can't say enough about my 8.3 rear and .55 fronts, Procycle did me right, tell 'em I sent you!

The Sargent seat?...well....to be fair we did do an awful lot of miles on such a bike......to me it gets rather hard and I am ready for a gas stop.
We did 320 miles on Thursday. Today, Friday we head for Mexico City proper, we will skirt the city on Arco Norte as I've been there before and I'm glad of that, but once is enough for me.
It's raining right now at 8.22am in Aguascalientes, but the outlook seems brighter.
I have to look at my rear light wiring first. I have no running light or brake light. This involves quite a dis-assemble, on reflection I ought to have made the light more accessible, which I may do when we get settled in a place with facilities,
Colleen is making tea with honey for me, I left Los Angeles with a roaring head cold and Bronchial condition, this morning it is abating well and we need to keep it under control.
Thanks for taking a look.

You don't see much water.... here's a bit......

Still, the pictures have not uploaded.

Hopefully we will be somewhere with better internet service tonight.
Colleen

They will all tell you upon check in that the internet service is good.

We're not apt to stay in any of the cities so, this may be the norm for our trip.

I'd better hustle and get packed up!!!

So out of focus...... Sorry!

Well that was quick. I fixed my light! Took less than half hour.
You have to get the side panels off to get the seat off. The right side panel has a rubber dong that protects the panel from the exhaust can, mine is squashed up really tight with my side pannier racks.
I managed to get both panels off without further dis-assembly and then the pesky DR650 seat came off easily.
Colleen had helped previously with the diagnostics, she said my light came of and on for a while before it went out completely.
I decided on a loose connection under the seat...mainly because I would have to take the top box off to get at the rear light! It's not a quick release top box, it's bolted to the rack.
ANYWAY...after finding the wires to the rear light...sure enough...a connection had come apart. I had worked on this bike extensively myself and also with the last owner. Lucien had done a good job of making the wires waterproof, but this particular wire was never pushed in it's socket, it must have been held there by the waterproofing. I simply pushed the wire in it's socket, it clicked right home and I have light! I barely disturbed the waterproofing.
Quite a struggle to get the right side panel back on, but fortunately it's Tupperware and bends really nice and comes back to shape.

I thought so. Just put some on my DRonkey and really like them. Am interested in how they wear in your go LONG Central and South America application.

Hola Tuckers,

Really enjoying your ride report. Hope to see you down the road in South America. Any news is good news when you're trying to upload photos and keep up a live ride report on sketchy wifi. Keep up the good work. I appreciate the effort. It's fun to follow your adventures.

Kindest regards,
John Downs

Very cool report! Subscribed.

No big deal, but: If you two posted in different colors or something, we could tell right away whose post it is.

Have fun!
