nice

so far so good! the border crossing at douglas/agua priata is pretty easy. everything is right there and the bank is just a block or 2 down the road.

Aren't those roads in that part of the world awesome. good twisties when you hit the mountainous areas and then some flat straight, roads on the plains areas. notice how fast everyone drives on those flat straight roads. last time I was down there we got lapped by everyone including the policia. and we were running 20 kph over the post limit.

This is Miller Adams. We met him at a Walmart in Benson. Interesting chap. He said he just HAD to come over and tell us he liked our style!
A sailor, an Adobe builder, a man with wanderlust. Very nice chap indeed, well read and informed. He offerd a place for us on his 14 acre spread but we wanted to move on in to Mexico.
Hopefully he'll take a look at this.

A traveler himself, he had some good tips for down south. This guy was probably the most interesting thing about Benson AZ. Oh and you can see my pack of underwear in the previous picture.
And just what are the chances of running into some dude in a Walmart parking lot that asks you where you are going and after telling him, says, "How are you going to cross the Darien Gap?"

I can't believe its all come round so quickly. It all makes for entertaining reading.... I hope you guys are managing to keep up with all the technology without it taking over, like stupid mobile phones!
Looking forward to sharing your adventures whilst hibernating in Dorset. Ride safe guys. Jif & Jim

Ha ha Jimmy! We left the chairs at home, more room for drinks. Yes, the time has come and we are well on our way. No phones. I took the GPS off today and the bike to bike radio, we did oh so well without them.

Shinko Trailmaster I think. I'll check in the morning, right now I am in bed drinking a cold Victoria Mexican beer and just can't move anything but my fingers! Too much Tequila with dinner.

NOBODY even got close to passing us on the mountain, but on the flat they just blow by at 100mph! We live for mountain twisties!

We did not have internet service last night. We stayed in a real dive in
Delicias.

Tonight we are in a REALLY nice place in Gormez Palacio outside of Torreon.

We will be missing our time spent in Havasu this winter. Our good friend Patty Nagler winters there. We spend time with her every year in her condo.

Maybe next year, we'll see you there!

Sorry for the delay. The internet connection is slow and it can drive one mad.
We are downloading pictures to smugmug to upload them to ADV, it's a maddening process, really quite slow and time consuming.

Basically we rode from Delicias to Gomez Palacio, including 66 miles of rain, rain, rain, then a couple hundred miles of Chihuahua. It was OK though. Very nice road. We are slabbing the TOLLS as we need to get south pretty quickly to have a cushion of time before our 5th Dec meeting with Ludwig and the Stahlratte.

Met a couple of Mexican bikers on their way to Mazatlan for the Mex Iron Butt meeting this weekend. We were invited along but declined as our schedule is darn tight.

Pictures to follow, it takes a while!

Toll booth. What with inner gloves and what not we create quite a hold up at toll booths. Nothing can be done, it must suck to follow a motorcycle through the booth!

Road works, just like anywhere it's a constant

Cow in cage, just how I like them

Enduro Roll Chart, in 50 years of riding motorbikes they have NEVER let me down

See the shapes in the clouds? What do you see?

TECATE sign

You'll need an enlarger too see this sign

More nice sky creatures

That's cotton

Seems like they only hire good looking women for the toll booths, and they are super friendly

Guacamole

Storm ahead and can't change our course

Gas and Burrito (more gas) and coffee

Deliciias bedroom, we have our down sleeping bags with us

This is just some of our stuff

Choice of pools

This hotel has everything except internet. Patio seating. Birds. Entertainment center in the bedroom. Fantastic views. $21 with one beer!

Today it rained and rained and rained

still we stop for lunch after the rain and lube the chains

Peanut butter and honey on bread, our own honey from our own bees

Bikers from Mexico, nice lads

Action shot after the rain

You see the mountains all around but never seem to reach them
