The shorty version will be fine which means you can go for two 38 later panniers. I have the standard length Wings pipe which is 2cms too long for the Remus racks.

I went with the 31/38 Touratech because I wanted black.

Hmmm, not fond on the touratech set-up. I must say i do like the Nomada with remus exhaust set-up! Looks very need! And you can have 2 x 38liters for 95cm (37.4") width.

Does anyone know the overal width of the KTM plastic panniers please?

The KTM Touring panniers are no wider than the handlebars on the Std 1190. I checked....

Checked with Holan, can't fit a helmet in a 38 or 39box since it's just 24cm wide and a helmet is 26cm. Darn

I guess they are still the ones to go for if you want max capacity for minimum space.

I plan to use my Wolfman "Expedition" panniers. What are my options for pannier mounts/racks? It would be nice to be able to strap a Rotopax on the shifter side like the old Wolfman racks:

As much as I like the 1190R I would need a plan to fix that before getting one. The twin exhaust header from a south African (?) manufacturer should fix that.

Holan Nomada panniers

Has anyone bought these yet? So far, these look the best to me among the Aluminum bags. Looked at Touratech, Globescout, Trax and the Holan. To me the Jesse's look ugly, kind of like the Pontiac Aztec of the hard luggage.

I wanted to get the KTM branded Al panniers because I thought they may be keyed to the bike but unfortunately KTM is only offering the 31/45 combo from Touratech, which looks a bit odd. I wish they had the 31/38 option.

The Holan Nomadas seem very slim, only 92 cm (36.25 inch) for the 31/38 combo.

I have them on order, the narrow Remus version 2x38l. Will report after I installed them.

I like that set up.

The factory KTM panniers for the Touring package are not very sturdy. Plastic mounts on the pannier. Already broken a small piece on the right pannier where it mounts up to.
