I think the point was that he (MM) pull some crazy shit that hurt people.

And there's been no hand-wringing over some of the close hail-mary passes he pulled on Rossi in Qatar, either. I have no problem with them, but other here were bitching/moaning about other's close passes in the past.

Funny how being a winner removes their sins...

Yes, I'm just stirring the pot.

I used to think Marquez was a menace, but the smiles he brings to Parc Ferme from himself and everyone around him have absolved him in my eyes. I think it was the moment last year at Laguna Seca when him and Rossi were high-fiving after he Rossi'd Rossi.

Unless my memory has faded (and that is possible), the only time, when MM clearly rammed and hurt someone in Moto2, was in PI, when he crashed on the back of a Thai rider after some FP session had ended. And keep in mind his rivals were no quireboys either.

If the other racers don't have a problem with the way MM is riding, then we shouldn't either. Rossi hasn't jumped up and down, screaming and pouting about MM, so he obviously finds MM acceptable (as in VR own words: 'Rossi 2.0'). Dani doesn't seem to be wringing his hands, either, but then he seems to have adopted a very dour race face lately. I seem to remember JLo complaining once or twice last season, but then he just got down to business, and raced. No one else seems to be airing any complaints.
MM seems like a very likeable, 'real' person. The sport is better for him (so far). JL has always been attacked because of his artificial persona, Dani is dour, VR is an old man (I keed, I keed!), Dovi is a grump, and CE is a potty mouth. Let the racing always be in your favor.

It is not in his style to do such things, but in a theoretical championship fight between VR and MM I am sure that his press releases will start to sound more "picky" about the young spanish. He always behaved like that with his "real" opponents. But I don't think we will ever witness such a situation...

Actually I just re-watched the Qatar race, and MM very nearly clipped Rossi's back wheel at least once, had to change his line, and did so. But it's basically just what he did to send Dani to the orbit at Aragon last year (even though that stupid TC wire was equally culprit)..... He was specifically told not to continue that back then, but he seems to keep doing it. Well, he usually does manage to avoid contact, but it is very very close.

MM has never knocked any other MotoGP riders down (don't count Pedrobot) while Simo did.

So if this is the standard, should we mention Bautista (aka the bowling ball), and Lowrents riding in the last race last year. What about Nicky and Dovi last season?
I've said it before, either let them race, or turn it into a TT style start on the track, to limit passing and potential of getting too close to any other racer.

Those last few laps had my wife and I on the edge of out seats shouting at the TV and scaring the cats.

We thought that at any moment all would be lost.
Man! what a good race.

My benchmark is still CEII and Bayliss.

Ah, for the good old days when race announcers used phrases like "Hammer and Tongs", and "Showing the underpinnings to good affect".
