I have, in both categories.

I still sling my leg over the saddle and I wouldn't stop my children (if I ever have any) from it.

The hell we can't. You can watch the motoGP guys doing it on the super slow mos, moreover I've sat there and watched Zemke and Hayes pull the exact stunt.

WTF??

Monday in my office I have to endure "how about that game?" and I have to say that I don't watch b-ball or football. Then get an odd look.

Try being a Canadian who has NO interest in hockey.............

When I hear "Man did you see that pass from______, and what a catch!!!" I reply "Did you see that pass around the outside by Lorenzo?" I get blank stares

There is more excitement in watching golf for me, than watching football or especially baseball.

Is this where we bash other non-motor sports to make ourselves feel superior?

At least until racing starts and we start feeling vastly inferior again.

The office talk that *really* makes me crazy is the Honey Boo Boo/Kardashian/Survivor stuff. I'd gladly listen to people talk about Hockey rather than that stuff.

Being relieved they don't have an interest is not the same as stopping them from riding.

Yep.

My first real insight to the technique came from talking to Geoff May, who at the time was a fast privateer, but certainly no alien. Not even in the AMA.

I got a first hand look at Hayes doing it right in front of me in turn 9 at NJMP......as he was passing me like I was going in reverse.

A fella has got to have a reason to practice yelling at the TV during the off season and elections do not occur often enough to be good practice. I resort to working on impossible projects in the garage and taking the Whitworth or Lucas name in vain...
