I liked Oxleys line here:

Yep. Far too much of that practiced PRtalk everywhere these days.
Well said. I know I'd be lost in that scene. (And then some...)!

But anyway, here's a bit from TB about this weekend. Went last year, and it was gas! But just having got home from two weeks night shift..blah ...3K round trip......blah blah....yeah, I'm a sook.

It's called maturity. You can accept that it's a sponsor- and fan-driven sport and accommodate that, or you can retire.

If you're one of the lactose intolerance nay-sayers such as myself, that article definitely points more towards anxiety and panic attack issues rather than lactose intolerance with 2008/2009 series. Coming off a championship, pressure is high, after Laguna and "the pass" he basically folded after that. Then 2009, pressure still on, not as dominant, anxiety/panic attacks set in.

Being that high strung and having that much pressure put on you, and on a bike that is crap, I could definitely see the nerves getting to him for sure. I've dealt with both and it sucks so definitely feel for the guy and after reading that just somewhat cements my thoughts that it was anxiety and not so much lactose intolerance.

Just my couch racer 2 cents. Bro could ride the hell out of a bike. ALMOST as good as he could hold a grudge lmao, "I'M PISSED AT YOU FOR SOMETHING YOU WROTE WHEN I WAS RIDING IN THE 125 SERIES THAT WAS YEARS AGO". Danngggggg.

The Ducati response was pretty good:
Quote:
This news was quickly denied by Ducati Motor Holding CEO Claudio Domenicali, who joked with La Stampa: "Really? Then we should also sign Marquez and can save us the development of the bike."
Interesting academic question, though: could Lorenzo and Marquez on Ducatis beat Pedrosa on a Honda? I'd have to guess that would be Pedrosa's year.

Nah, he's got Ted Kennedy status at this point...he'd find a way not to win, probably with help from a deus ex machina event.

Speaking of Pedrosa. Big year for him. In some regards he should be safe to retain his seat (if he wants it) as he is still one of only 3 riders capable of running at the front unless someone else can make an impression this year. On the other hand maybe HRC things they can get a better bang for the buck from someone else.
I hope we wins the title this year and then retires.

That Ducati response could be read that they don't think their current riders have the chops to win with the bike, too.

I don't think that's the case, but could you imagine if Marc was on a Duc?

As for Stoner, to me it reads that he needed professional medical attention to deal with what are basically unhealthy mental issues. Not saying he's nuts, but the condition described is the sort of thing there's well qualified and competent folks are trained to help a person with. If that's the case, I hope for his sake that he overcomes it, if only for his own well being.

The whole thing does point towards him being in the right place being the test pilot for Honda. No show, just go.

I'm a Rossi fan first and a Pedrosa fan almost equally. I don't think Dani will ever do it. I just don't think he has that magical last hundredth of a percent.

I think he's got the speed, its more about being a little short on sack. Just doesn't get aggro enough, often enough when trying to pass. He's got a case of Ryan Dungey real bad.

He's aggressive enough. /NickyHayden c2006

Kidding aside, he's a little guy and can't use body english to maneuver as well as bigger guys. But some of his starts show a lot of sack.

I think he's too methodical sometimes. Like a video game almost. I know that as a pace maker he seems great, but when shit goes odd late race he isn't as adaptable as some others. I still hope he'll win though.
