Asked whether Marquez’s instant success meant 2014 was a must-win scenario for Pedrosa, Suppo added: “If you want to have two riders very strong then tell me a name that is going to be stronger than Dani. He has been with HRC a long time and it is true it is a long time without winning the championship but there are only three riders that are in another league. And absolutely Dani is one of them. And if you want to have a very strong team then Dani deserves to be there and I think he will have the same chance to win again.”

Movistar might come back to MotoGP as the Yamaha factory team's sponsor.

Announcement possible Feb 4 at Sepang test.

No offense, but it's just common sense (christ, Pedrosa got 300 points for the season). Interesting for Suppo to put himself out there publicly (as team manager), but he's not saying anything remarkable.

Except for Kevin Schwantz and his ilk.

Keep up, the topic is whether Pedrosa is going to keep his job in 2015. And yeah, a strong 3rd place will just about guarantee that happening.

Why would they keep the guy, who can get 3rd, when they could easily give that seat to someone else, who can regularly finish in the top-5

Keep up?
Don't get ahead of yourself. There's plenty of races for Dani to break another hollow bone before 2015 arrives.

The season can't start soon enough.

As far as Dani is concerned, yes he is is still the 3rd quickest rider. Yet circumstances have been kind to keep him on that seat. Simo's passing and Stoners shock retirement bought him some time. But there are always new fast new kids are coming along. How long before Alex Marquez is ready?

Alex will not win the moto3 championship this year but, he will move to Moto2 next year. He will also not replicate the speed of his brother, despite the rumors. Alex will be in WSBK in 3 years.

If circumstances have been kind to Pedrosa, I'd hate to see what unkind circumstances would be like. But putting injuries aside and to your point that Pedrosa was lucky Simo and Stoner aren't around anymore: you have to be kidding about Simo -- he was his own worst enemy and never showed the consistency to ever be a championship threat; Stoner retired behind Pedrosa in the standings, if you'll recall.

Obviously, Pedrosa isn't the favorite and is looking at a steeper hill to climb with Marquez around; he's still got a shot, like Suppo said.

And plenty of seasons for some people to keep saying it's his make-or-break year. It's as regular as the tide.
