We will know more when today's quotes come out.

I think they will be more concerned with the final times at the end of the day tomorrow.

Of course, there are always the head games; who is putting pressure on the others? Who is holding their cards?

Marquez was .5 clear yesterday and he said he was just out there for a shakedown, not even hardly trying.

Full breakdown here, all riders, all laps, all day.

Anything special stand out?

Oh yeah, for sure! Probably 2 (or 3) other Spaniards he'd like to put behind him too.

Day 2, laps under 2m.01s

Okay then, a different and somewhat more familiar picture emerges from the lap chart if we look at number of laps under 2m.01s.

Order then is:

Marquez 20 (best 159.926, the only rider to get under 2.00).

Lorenzo 11 (best 2.00.573)

Rossi 5 (best 2.00.464)

Bradl 3 (best 2.00.339)

Smith 3 (best 2.00.603)

Pedrosa 2 (best 2.00.336)

Iannone 2 (best 2.00.855)

Bautista 2 (best 2.00.897)

Aleix Espargaro 1 (which was 2.00.547)

No-one else got there.

So Lorenzo is probably not too concerned.

I do not think he would be a front runner on better equipment, but he is a good rider when not hurt. But I feel bad for Karel Abraham and his dad. I bet they wished they went Yamaha

Wow! Interesting interview with Lorenzo over at GPone.

Sounds like there are two big things not working on his bike - the fueling because of having to meet the new limits and the hard tires.
Says both of those problems can be solved by running in the Open class. He says nothing is stoping Yamaha from running his bike in Open. He claims the softer tires available to the Open bikes are worth 6 or 7 tenths alone.

No word on what the Yamaha boss has to say about that but the fact that he is talking about it is a stunner.

I was wondering why a factory team would not race the open class if they could go faster. The whole fuel thing sucks anyway. Seems rather pointless. Prolly time to dump the spec tire deal too.

Looks like the RCV1000r's are complete crap currently. Makes you wonder what kind of press release about Stoner almost matching speeds on that bike with the factory.

Holy cow..it is going to snow more in NJ. I agree with both of those points you made.

Stoner also rode the Ducati that no one else could ride like that.

He is the Alien of Aliens and his results are not comparable to what mortals can do on the bike.

Yeah, that Honda PR seems surprisingly slow.
Problem is that Stoner is not someone to take as a parameter for "earthlings"...
He was faster than most of the others even on the Ducati...

EDIT: Oooops... 205'd....

Perhaps you are new to the 21st century. PR/marketing = bullshit.
