To me, his legacy is cemented.
Not to mention all the work he did/does on bike development...

Are the outdoors going to be broadcast on channels we can afford this year? Are they going to split the 4 motos up into different broadcasts at different times on different channels?

yeah, that was a big fiasco. I do not think he has won a pro title. He has had some years where he was on track and then derailed. All his titles are at the youth level IIRC.

Correct.

His pro title tally is and forever will be exactly zero.

He brought RC to Suzuki and made it a very successful team for a few years before he gambled and won on Dungey.

If being in the Navy and living my moto life via magazines is gone, so be it.

DeCoster has led a charmed life to an extent. So be it as well.

Selection of these teams has basically been getting the best riders available.

Not unlike playing poker when the cards get laid out face up and you pick the 5 you want, and nobody else is picking from your deck.

Not exactly rocket science.

yes he does have a significant legacy but I think it too often gets implied that he's some kind of zen (Belichick/Phil Jackson) who wills riders to levels of achievement they wouldn't have reached without him. I don't think that's the case.

If I pick this years US MXDN team and chose RV/RD/JS that doesn't exactly make me a fucking genius.
