I read in one article on the topic, an interview with Pierer from memory, that the sale was done through another company rather than the parent company not to keep the brands separate, but because it was easier given the speedy nature of the transfer from BMW and that Husqvarna would be a stablemate, not a competitor of KTM and it's other companies.

A little bird told me KTM dealers will NOT be selling Husqvarna. Outside metro areas AHG will alternate the brands between major centres. Dealers may include former Feeney Husky locations.

That is all.

At the meeting held between existing Husqvarna dealers and AHG, a criteria was laid out which would determine who would stay and who would go. Based on past sales (and presumably continuing into the future) dealers who sold at least a minimum number of units per year and carried a minimum number of units of floorstock (numbers specified by AHG and differ between metro and country dealers) would retain their Husqvarna dealerships. In real terms this means in the short term probably little change to the dealership arrangements prior to AHG taking over, except that the odd low volume dealership might lose the brand.
