My tribute to Kurt

Kurt was showing the champion that he was as he climbed out of Valle De Trinidad in first place about a 100 miles from his mishap. We'll all miss his future accomplishments as well as the man. RIP

First time I saw Kurt race in person was King of the Moto's located in Johnson Valley, CA. I volunteered at Checkpoint #1 that morning, which was located at the top of this steep/loose hill 30 miles from the start. We could see riders approaching from miles out. Kurt was the first one to arrive, and he had to be going 40% faster than anyone else! His speed and fluid motion on the bike was awesome! I could tell at that point in time, I was witnessing perfection on two wheels ripping through the desert. (I think he put like 4-5 minutes on the field in the short distance to CP1).

Hopefully, what looks to be a helmet cam will give his family closure on what happened.

I also hope it's not something ever published on the web, too.

It's gonna be a well attended funeral, I guess.

He was a inspiration. Watched Moto4 last night. He was fully alive. He went way too soon but thank you for giving us so much.

A damned shame.

Thanks for all you did Kurt. You inspired my nephews with your "you will be faster than me some day..." We will miss you at the trail rides, the races, and everywhere else...
