bike for IMS New York

Hello All, I don't mean to hi-jack this thread but it was the only one started for the show. I was hoping we (AltRider) could connect with someone in NY or NYC for the show. We are looking for someone who owns a new BMW R 1200 GSW. We would like to borrow it and display it at our booth decked out with our new parts. We would give you a killer deal on gear if you wanted to keep it on your bike, if not we will return the bike back to its normal state. We would also buy you a beer (a very big one), and also get you into the show on any day that you like. If this is something you can help us out with please PM me with your details.

I will post on here when we have found someone.

Normally we borrow from a dealer but borrowing from a fellow ADV Rider is much more fun.

- Erik @ www.altrider.com

PS - we look forward to seeing everyone out in NYC!

Since this is the more populated of the threads thusfar, I'm planning on riding down Friday. I know there's usually like a lunch at the Dino BBQ beforehand and then a casual stroll around.
I'd be interested in the possibility of flipping a few of ya'all the bird that afternoon.

Deals at the show?

Guys,

This will be my first motorcycle show in the US... Next week I was planning on stopping at a dealer to give a down payment for my new bike (GS ADV LC) and buy some gear (specially a helmet) for my wife.

Can I normally get better deals at the show or it doesn´t really matter?

Thanks

I don't think it matters. I do try different boots and helmets to make sure about the right size but I always end up buying online.

Erik - I hope you find some good fortune with a water cooled BMW for the show. I'm going to start saving my pennies for the Adventure version. Maybe in a year or two I'll be able to lend you mine!

Oh, and by the way, having the show in December sucks!

A couple more discount codes, CYBER14, FACEBOOK14.

As far as moving the date, once again motorcycles get no respect. Generally, a recurring show is locked into their time slot. I guess something more important (to the Javits) wanted that date.

Or I wonder if some of the vendors wanted to get in before Christmas?
