Apparently it's Jamie Chitticks' bike from 2010. I bought it from a bloke called Rob who worked for Glenn as a mechanic and went to Dakar twice it was his steed. I got pretty lucky as I saw it the moment it hit ebay and I was on the phone straight away. It has all the bits I needed for mine and then some.
About 250 hrs on it total but it was stripped and rebuilt 50 hrs ago and the head and piston is new.
I haven't opened it up yet but it's meant to be fast.
I'm using it for trails and plan to use it at Condo.
My original bike the valves went at Condo and so was rebuilt with stainless valves and a TRX piston. That one I'm building for Safari. I figure I need reliability more than speed.

I'll put some pics up tomorrow..
I thought there must have been some GHR connection with the dirtbike.com.au sticker on the front fender. The bike sounds tasty.... I need to keep a better eye on those ebay bargains.

What's the story with the TRX piston? Longer skirt? Does it stop that fancy piston flip trick the Smith bros did at this years Safari?

I like your thinking on the two bikes, you want to keep the practice hours up before safari but don't want to run a half way worn out bike or have to do a rebuild just beforehand. I'm planning on using the funduro as the practice bike, I figure it'll be like an athlete training at altitude, anything I'll be easy after that.

Hi Tex, mate I watched your youtube clips as training
I don't think I posted any clips up. I might be in someone else's clips maybe. In any case the only thing you'd learn from me is how to ride slowly!

If you need an MA licence, don't leave it until the last moment either.

My plan is to be there on the Super Tenere. Need to rebuild the top end, lighten the bike (sort the navigation tower system and headlights. ditch the rear mudguard and tail-light), add a toolbox and water tank to the bash plate and do a few more chassis and bodywork mods.
Sounds interesting. I thought if I ever did it again I might do it on an older bike, or something a bit different. Maybe a DT200?!

Entries

Message from the Condo750 Race Secretary:

"Entries open on 1st February 2014, supp regs will also be available and have all the information you will require, including licence,s.
If you need to apply for a licence with MNSW I would get onto it now as they can be very slow."

Spectating?

Thinking of wandering down for this - are there generally good spots for watching the action?

Pitty it's so close to the pre90 (post Classic) VMX titles which are on at Echo Valley, Toowoomba, over ANZAC weekend next year as I too would like to putt down on the XTZ for a glance of Sundowner wrestling his big muther through the deep sand.
It surpises me that they don't do a one-day licence as that alone adds close to $300 to the entry especially since there is a bit of hoo-har going on with MA as there is now a new underwriter (AASA) that will cover these events.
BTW, what is the "entry" fee?

ps If it's 1000+ ks it wont be the Condo750 anymore will it....just sayin'

Before last year I thought "shit thats like racing to Melbourne on the 450"

275.02km Transport and 652.83km Special = 927.85km later I hardly noticed the whole thing....too much to pay attention too !

The only thing wrong with Condo is that its only on once a year

Yeah, the funny thing is it's the transports I find the toughest, you have time to notice how sore your you are.

Ha - didn't you have an "off" during a transport stage this year? I think I recall rounding the corner and seeing you (and your bike) in the bushes...!

Being a rally type of event I guess it's like doing a series of smaller races ( each special stage and transport ) You just need to make the next finish control to stay in the event.
SOUNDS LIKE IT'S GUNNA BE ANOTHER HOOT.
Hope some more sidecars get out there.

oh yeah.... maybe thats why I found the transports so hard

That was the biggest off I've had in a while, I had a total brain fart and totally forgot how to turn a corrner which would have been fine except that I was halfway through a corner at the time
