OC is dead as it is for 950/990/SE owners now.

Just a shadow of it's former self, no more iconic travel/picture/rebuild/farkle threads.

All lost in a sea of what pannier, where's my warranty book, do you like my new Akra(no different to stock) can etc... for the 1190, which is fine if you're turned on by the 1190.

But it seems there are definitely two camps to this question 9*0 owners who want it split because they have no interest in the 1190, and 1190 owners who want to keep it together, why? Why do you 1190 owners want to keep seeing stuff relating to the 9*0's? It has no relevance to the 1190's other than both being KTM.

As others have said, there is no technical comparison between the two, regardless of which you prefer, it makes no sense to run them together.

If it's just the Adventure riding/lifestyle thing there are other/better threads on ADV for that already.

So split it, it makes no sense to keep the 'my rides better than your ride' argument going on from either sides view point.

Personally the 1190 threads are as relevant to me as GS threads, and please understand I'm not being derogatory in any way when I say this.

The Gspot on this very site after all splits the boxers and parallel twins, same thing should happen here IMO.

I used to be against splitting. I thought i would enjoy OC as a new 1190 R owner, but the 9x0 owners have so far had very little positive to add, and in general have been jerks on 1190 topics, so no real loss.

Disappointed, but accurate. I thought 9x0 owners would have alot to offer, and that I had joined a new family, but it doesn't seem to be the case, so again, no real loss.

It's because it's a whole different bike.

For example what Wonway said a few posts above just blew my mind. How could one think that the 950 is more different from the 990, than the 1190 from the 9x0?! Omg.. There is not a single part that the 9x0 and the 1190 shares. Bolts and screws maybe, and stuff like that. But the engine is a whole different design - including the fueling system, ignition system, the electronics are whole different (canbus), the fairings, the frames, the lights, instruments, etc... Sorry Wonway, don't want to hurt you, but try putting an 1190 engine in the 9x0 frame (or ask LocuL - http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=584482), then try putting a 950 engine in a 990 frame and figure which models are more identical - if it's not already obvious by just looking at the bikes:) If still in doubt ask a (non-biker) girl to have a look at a picture of a 950 a 990 and a 1190. I'm sure she couldn't make any difference between the 950 and the 990, and would point out that the two are the same, and the 1190 is a different bike.

And guys PLEASE!! It's not that 9x0 owners would be banned to visit the 1190 region and vica versa, don't act like that.. So if you're just reading around you can easily make that +1 click to go over to the 1190 or to the 9x0 area.

Also it would be easier to search the forums with google if it were split (because the "searchterm site:http://advrider.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=34" now gives back the whole OC, and there is no way to separate the search if the searchterm and the topic doesn't contain which model you are searching for. If they were split, the ...?f=34 number would be different for the 9x0 and the 1190 portion of the forum, so it'd be easier to make a search)

It would be nice to see the OC split into 2 sub categories 1190 and 950/990. It sure would clean things up

By the weird reasoning in this thread, shouldnt every bike model have its own forum? And then split each of those forums into "whining about" and "positive about" sections?
At the time of me typing this, 6 of the top 10 threads here are about the 950, then the next 3 are generic (chains, rallys and articles). So why are people whining about "I cant find any 950 info... there's only 1190 discussion"???

I prefer to have both. There is not so many topics that threads dissapear off the first page within a day. And I like looking at 950 threads, they give me ideas for my 1190. Theyre not THAT vastly different.
