Let the 1190 owners remain part of the O.C., but convey the predominant mindset by renaming their sub forum Orange County.

If you can't see the difference in those pics, it explains why you're struggling with the argument. The one on the left is so much nearer to a road bike in so many ways.

The 1190R is much closer in 'concept' to the 950/990, but technically there is no crossover at all, different engine, injection, can bus, et... etc...

Don't think at all that I'm struggling with the arguments, I just see that some prefer to ignore what doesn't support their cause.
And yes, the one on the left is so much nearer to a road bike in so many ways.

I vote for a split. It's not super hard and/or time-consuming to making a new forum and search for and dump threads into it that pertain to the 1190's. It will help from a user standpoint greatly, not having to wade through a bunch 1190 stuff to find the 950/990 stuff and visa versa. The beemers get their sub-categories. We should too. Other forums like KTM Talk and Thumper Talk have MANY more subcategories and granulated organization. I'm all for it. The more organized the better.

It aint so much about difference in the bikes, its the deluge of duplicate 1190 threads which are making OC painful to navigate.

Perhaps the mods can just start 2 new threads and merge all of the numerous duplicates?

1. I bought an 1190 and I want to tell you all about how great it is Megathread
2. My new 1190 won't start/run/go please help me Megathread

That would cover 90% of it.

ROTFLMAO, REALLY!

I love this: "some prefer to ignore what doesn't support their cause."

I've never met a person that didn't obey this rule, what I call the 'first law of politics, religion, and everything else'.

Oh yeah, I'd like to see the 9x0 and 1190 forum topics split.
Thanks for your consideration.
J.

Why haven't we heard from the mods on this topic? Simple sticky should do?

It would save alot of bickering and dickishness. If I wanted to read Jomamma I'd go there...

Betting that if the mods split the 1190 from the 9x0, the 1190 would be the only bike on this site that has it's own forum...

Hey, as an 1190 R owner, that sounds pretty cool!
You've convinced me we should combine the 1190 with the 1200GS forum.

Same bike except for the cylinder orientation.
