Think ADVRider couldn't be improved? Check out KTMTalk and their Classified Section vs the ADVRider "Flea Mart".

Don't get me wrong. I'd like to see ADVRider listen to its members a little more and make the site better for all. The Adventure Rider concept is one that I like, because of its Adventure focus But if you are going to go bike specific--do it fairly and in a way that represents the inmate population and its reasonable desires. If not--skip all the bike specific stuff and lump 'em all together in one big Adventure (whatever that is) family.

Hearing some "if you don't like it leave" comments from some. Are these guys mods? have an inside track to the mods?

FWIW

OK, sorry, my attempted humour was taken the wrong way, so lets try again.

If Orange Crush was to be split, then we would have to do the same with GSpot. If Orange Crush and GSpot was split then V-Strom owners would be jumping up and down until they were split.

How long before every DR/KLR/690/640/XR/Tenere etc owner would be asking for their own forums?

Sorry guys and girls, it just isn't going to happen.

As an alternative can you punt all of the 1190 threads over to Gspot?

I like Advrider and OC. I am paying to use smugmug to support this forum.

Just saying that your answer is just going to piss people off. It's sounds like a classic gate keeper put off. Everyone would want a split seems... well... phony reasoning.

You were exactly right the first time.....its a free forum that is privately owned and we use it for free and some donate to it at times to keep it up and running. Shit everywhere people bitch about stuff that they get for free.....and most of the time its for no other reason than to just bitch. Just use what you like and keep moving over the stuff you don't

Yeah, in every board meeting you need to be careful. If you have an opinion that does not go along, someone will always enjoy looking good by putting you down. Goes with the territory if you speak up.

Not to shoot the pigeon.

But on that logic, why not split ADV into Singles, Flats, Parallels and V twins and fours.

The rotax single is a bad analogy, I'd have no problem with combining Husky 900 and F 800 which follows more your reasoning. In reality both the GS and 1190 are more road bikes, whilst the 9*0 are in a similar spectrum the heritage was 100% off road.

I just still can't understand how people think that the 9x0 and 1190 shares anything in common. There's not a single part of the bikes that are same (including the soul, spirit, or call it whatever) - Okay, the KTM and the Adventure (Why not join the GSA forum as well?) logo. Following this logic, the whole forum should be in one big mess, because all them bikes have engines in it & wheels on it.

Can a MOD _PLEASE_ give us a rational reason for this no split thingy, without all the BS?

It explained very clear in post #222, quoted below for your convenience:

Might as well get in my 2 centavos before it's closed.

Please split the Orange Crush.

My SMT and Adventure should be together in an LC8 forum.

The RC8 belongs in a separate forum.

Even an LC4 forum makes more sense than the endless and useless Wunderfest where the information is valuable but not available.

Please split the forums logically, they'll work better and cause much less grief.

Then why was GSpot split and Parallel Universe created ? Perhaps you could explain that to us all?
