How do you like those Tusk tank panniers? I was thinking about a set for my DRZ, they're quite a bit cheaper then the Stich ones.

I really like them, they are a lot lighter than most others. ( thinner slum. ).

I had front and rear racks for our TW200's. Never once did we use the front rack EVER. Covered up the headlight and put too much weight over the front.

Cool build. I enjoyed both my XTs immensely.

I ended up modifying my seat with blue pad from Walmart foam and a new seat cover.

I used the sweet cheeks for a while on the DRZ and really liked it with the stock seat. I used two 1.5 liter fuel bottles in it, wrapped in foam. Ended up selling when I got a bigger tank and seat concepts seat. Really ingenious product, though.

Have you considered soft bags? I bet those giant loop ones that strap down on the passenger pegs would work like a champ, though they are expensive.

Well after all the work into this project I found that the XT is a great LITTLE bike.It is just to small to do what I was asking it to do.SO I'm rebuilding the forks ( new HEAVY fork springs are being made as we speak ) and striping off all the overland stuff and turning back into a bare bones dualsport.I decided to go all out on my 700x and use it for the long distance offroad stuff.

Well the XT is back to Dualsport, explorer mode.I'm keeping the side racks and putting a smaller Seahorse case on the right side and my Kolpin on the other side.Oics to follow when they are installed .I did a total fork rebuild this weekend and it works great now.

I don't ride fast ,I ride far...
