I like your thinking! However I'm trying to keep the RPMs below 6500 for the first 600 miles as recommended.

What would be the best rpm to set the two shift lights.
I think its kind of cool to have the lights set early.
what are your thoughts.

RPM 1 =

Yeah exactly. The manufacturer wouldn't specify break in procedures unless they were the best for the machine.

Canisterectomy

Pretty easy.... rip out the canister and bracket.
Follow the hose back to the PCV valve (under gas tank on left)
Pull the hoses off the valve.
The one from the canister.... ditch it.
The one from the Y connector to the canister comes from the cylinder heads. plug it with a bolt and clamp or similar.
Rearrange the venting from the gas tank.... two vents (one is in, one is out) T them on top of the tank and drain to left side of engine with other tubes.
Cap off the PCV valve hose nipples. But leave the electrics plugged into the PCV valve or you'll get a fault code. (ask how I know!)
That's it.... lots of room now in the tail for tools plus.

Anyone know where to get a workshop service manual? (not the operators manual)

TechSpec Installation

Hi

As you all know the black plastic where your knees lock into is very shiny and slippery, and when pinched by the knees does not induce confidence or comfort.

I therefore installed the TechSpec product called snake from the RC8 model. They have not produced one for the 1190 yet.

This product allows you to anchor yourself to the bike and also while cornering will give good grip and confidence so you dont need to hang hard on the bars.
Its not a perfect fit, but will do the job that it needs to do..
