when turning on the bike (without starting the engine) on the 1190 (2013) i hear a sound like air is being sucked (from the tank ?) .

This happens also after 2-3 days when the bike was left in the garage without even starting the engine. Any ideas ?

A member answered that this is the fuel system pumping up pressure. Today a had a talk on the phone with an owner of a 1190 and he mentioned that he never heard this sound on his bike.

Hey man.....my girlfriend makes noise when I ride her... and the wife doesn't. They both ride fine and so will your 1190.....ride it

I have had great experience with my dealer, apparently unlike a lot of you... I had my rear tire replaced under warranty at 4500 miles because there was a couple of cracks in it causing a leak. I mentioned there was a little dust in the air box, they insisted on doing a leak down. Found out it was just barely in spec (2-8% is in spec, measured 8% @ 4500 miles), so rebuilt the motor for me (piston and rings), no questions asked. They didn't care I had a unifilter installed.

Btw, anyone want to sell me the standard 2pc seat?

Dreaded front end clunk

So with about 2500 miles on the 1190 I started getting the front end clunk under hard braking. Today at about 3000 miles I got around to pulling down the from end.

Not even 1 of the bolts was tightened to spec, and the steering head nut was only finger tight. After re torquing everything it is much smoother and no clunk. I'm another that lives more than 75 miles from a dealer I wouldn't take it to anyway so would rather do it myself and know it's right.

While I was at it I checked the air box and while there was a very light coating of dust it wasn't bad. I blew out the filter (which was pretty clean), cleaned the throttle bodies and put a bead of high temp RTV sealant around the lid. All now looks well sealed. If I ride in dust I'm usually in front so not going to uni route right now.

My 2014 was built in Jan. Any indication of a steering clunk should be checked immediately as this was loose enough to have caused serious incident if it went much longer. It appears the bearing wasn't seated properly at the factory and although the nuts may have been torqued properly at one point, when the bearing seated all the nuts got loose. This was not evident at the first service.

That said I've had nothing but fun on the bike and now it will just get better.

Billet License Plate Adaptor

Finally finished the license plate adaptor! Sure wish KTM would stick to a standard mounting hole pattern when they design bikes...

Probably the correct holes for our Euro plates.
