I just plugged mine in and then scrolled through the menu to "heated grips" put it in my favorites and they work just fine (off/low/med/hi) ?

this is not reality, some people (and dealers) apparently have no idea how anything works. read the manual and all is well. at least on the '14 R models?

Walt Kowalski once said to me that I knew nothing about life or death, because I was an over-educated, 27-year-old virgin who held the hand of superstitious old women and promised them eternity.

Directions for turning the grips on is in the installation directions. Go to the "Settings" page on the display and scroll to the Heated Grip option and turn it on. You will then get a new page in your display with the Off, On, Minimum, Medium, and Maxium settings.

if you turn them on without grips hooked up you will get an error message. turn them off and it goes away.

Joining the ranks.

I am going to pick up by gray 1190 today! I have been lurking on this thread a couple weeks and learning a ton, and I'm only up to page 41. I am sure I might have questions of my own soon. Thanks for all the valuable info!

Took a short ride last night to see how the headlights were. Mine were aimed really low. Anyone else have that issue?
Really easy to adjust, so that was nice.

Thumbs down heated Grips

Thanks for the responses... I'm not a total...... Hooked up the grips and pushed the appropriate buttons .... nothing! Doesn't go on or off or high or low.... just stays blank. I'll have the dealer 'flash it' at first service. Sounds like yet another way to squeeze $$.

You are going to LOVE it. Several magazines (I know they're just magazines) are suggesting this bike may be the best all around bike ever!? I've had a GS 650, Vstrom 1000 and Tiger 1050 and this new Katoom is significantly better in every category. Enjoy!
