Restart your browser or update your Flash player? Picture quality is not the best.

My internet was down for a few hours. Just caught Semi #1. Good race and I'm happy to Johnny Lewis going well on the KTM. Shayna Texter was a certified badass riding through that massive head shake at 130mph lap after lap. Holy shit.

We are on our third restart in the main. Three crashes. All ok.

Congratulations to Bryan Smith for winning all three GNC Expert main events at Springfield.

The only person more dominating that Bryan Smith was Pro class rider Jarod Vanderkooi. He was hooked up and MOVIN'! Especially in the main.

Congratulations to expert rider Danny Koelsch. He earned a national number by qualifying for the main.

Shayna rode a bucking bronc longer than anyone else probably would have in her semi race. Geez that was scary. But she got all the laps in.

Local IL girl Molly Terry had a LCQ transfer to the Pro main when the bike let go at the end of the back straight on the last lap.

It was good to hear some old names again. Ronnie Jones, Garth Brow, and Willie McCoy.

In case anyone missed the GNC Expert main, AMA Pro Racing has posted the entire race.

So I saw he won the Springfield Mile yesterday.

He is still running the Kawasaki correct?

Yes. A spinoff of the bike he rode and dominated with last year (though, they are look exactly the same, he claims his new "team" has made improvements).

Harleys proved they still got some HP to boot without the restrictors. Still a tad short of that Kawi. But, when Smith needed it most at the mega-mile last year, it went south. Definitely another good season ahead.

Should be very interesting to see what the HDs do at Knoxville. I suspect they will get the measure of the other bikes (kaws) on the 1/2 miles and there are 2 in a row coming up. Good to see Coolbeth doing so well after that crash also. And, Garth Brow back on a racebike again..... He and Shayna need to be on Kaws though. Sorry Triumph and Suzuki.

I keep asking this and still can't get over it.

These Kawasaki's are production 650 Ninja twin's which they then obviously do major tweaking to?

Are they changing the stroke?

What are they doing to these things to get that kind of perfomance out of them?

700, 740, and 750 are the common sizes for the Experts. Bore and stroke are/can be changed. The Pro Twins must have the stock bore and stroke. My buddy Alan is the owner of Racing Unlimited. Be owns the bike that Shayna killed the Pro Twins class with last fall. In Expert form, Rob Pearson rode it last year, and Cory Texter is riding this year. Alan has build a lot of the Kaw 650s for this season.
