Ride to hunt ??

Hi Guy's,
Does anyone ride their bike to hunt ? I'm thinking about wild boar hunting.
I didn't know where else to post.
Thanks,
Killer Whale KTM

I've rode mine to deer camp a few times. once riding a old r90s on slick street tires down a long muddy road. Lots of pucker factor but I made it. I have a rifle/shotgun over under that breaks down & ties on the back of the bike real good. Not obvious you have a rifle on your bike while your in the store.

One thing to consider is if ya kill something how ya gonna get it home. (it can be done )

One time leaving out in the pouring rain I handed my rifle to a buddy & said there's no need for it and me to get soaked.

I like to ride to squirrel hunt. I do get some funny looks from people with my rifle hanging over my shoulder on a sling.

A Ruger Super Redhawk fits fine in a tank bag and does a pretty good job on hogs.

Super Redhawk ? Thats a 44 right ? Or is the Black hawk a 44 and redhawk a 41 ? My Glock 10mm witha 6" barrel is close to the 41 I think. Having 15 rounds and a night sight comes in handy too though ! I'll likely take my new breakdown 308 lever action in a hard case on the rear luggage rack with a pistol back up. More than I'll need probably. I talked to freind and very experienced hunter who was charged by a 300-350 lb hog and said it was very exciting. Got him with the last shot at 10 ft. He said he litreally skidded to within 3 ft of him. He said that it was the shortest walk ever to his trophy !
Thanks,
jeff

Lots of years ago.....
Yes..
Even rode pedal bikes... The first time we went, was trouble. None of us had a "good" mount for rifles. We thought that a sling with an extra bungie would hold them fine, but that was NOT the case...

Second time we went, we all had modified bags with "real" straps that we could cinch down properly.

The issue with carrying dead things on a bike was pretty bad, but we were young and stupid, so I ended up carrying a deer, then jogging back to get the bike.

The Redhawk is a 44 in double action. Although I think these days is also comes in other calibers, such as a Casull.

The Blackhawk (single action) comes in all kinds of versions. To include 44 and 41 mag.

the 10mm should work, but I would look for some hot loads for it.

Big game hunting via bike? Not this guy. I'd rather walk than contend with packing out a large animal on a bike. Though I suppose as long as you stick to just the hunting portion a bike would be fine. ;)

My son killed a whitetail doe last season with his Glock 20 (10mm). Neck shot shooting Underwood ammo (hot).

I have a Super Redhawk in 480 Ruger.

Oh I am sure a 10mm would get the job done. But we are talking about a 250+ pound charging boar hog with razor sharp tusks. (hows that for drama). I want something with some margin for error.

The 480 Ruger would do nicely.

slightly off topic, but I went hunting on my Harley last month....

hunting with my Harley is more accurate

Took out 8pt buck at 70mph... I do not suggest it. Harley is kinda a one shot deal and the kick back can be a biotech. Put me in the hospital with broken shoulder blade aka scapula.
