Funny how all the pictures are of the flat, easy terrain...

My gratulation to the Texas Boys. I have seen you in your Tuxes at the Prologue.

I was riding too. It was my first Romaniacs too and I reached my goal of seeing the finish line every day. Only day 3 left me 10 minutes short of the cut off time. I blame it on the bottlenecks of course, not on me

Nice write up Matt. You are totally right. If you havenīt seen the endless uphills and downhills, you donīt know what romaniacs are all about. Some guys even lowered the bikes with ropes down the steep sections. And its not just a short way itīs for miles and miles and miles.

If you ask me how many push-ups to do before the race. I tell you - Donīt count, just do all of them.

Ah yeah - and hereīs the awful truth how riding looks like when a Hobby rider enters Romaniacs. But I figured out that the other riders beside me did not look much different

Kind of like baja, except its wet, has lots of tacky dirt, and endless dark and spooky forests to get lost in that are home to packs of wolves and bears (no lie).

Quoting Homero Diaz (KTM MEXICO TEAM RIDER) "It's like being in a haunted house, and every room is scarier than the last for 4 days straight."

The course is set up to make you fail, and not finish. In other words, it's UNRIDEABLE. Most importantly are the impossible downhills, and the impossible side hills. You don't know what steep is until you visit Romania. Sustained 45 degree plus for miles on end. Just insane.

What a blast, cant wait to go back........
