Clarification Please Sir

Is this event located at the "Campgrounds" at Ocean Pond? The link shows full hookups and a regular camp site. This is great for me since I wont have to bring a loud crappy generator.

I am assuming this is where the BE QUIET FEST comes from but don't know.

Thanks for the info.

Past few years have been at 'the landing' at ocean pond. It's on the south side of the lake.

Be Quiet orginated from disturbing Boy Scouts.

Yep... and the landing has hookups for probably about 4-5 RVs.

It's a big group camping area that is separated from the rest of the campsites on the other end of the lake.

There's also 2 showers and restrooms for use exclusively by those renting the site.

Great place for an ADV rally.

Being one of the individuals that was present when this whole Be Quiet clusterfuck began... not only did we offend the Boy Scout troop that was there but also most of the campers in the area.

Looking back now, I would have been pissed if a group of campers close to me were BS'n loudly under the influence of alcohol and going on night rides at quiet time.

Got a little bit better bike this time

It's no KTM, but I could not find a decent EXC anywhere outside of a brand new one. And I wanted to trade the SM. I heard lots of yays and nays about this bike, but a few more yays, so I went for it. Turns out I really like it. Only has a few miles so far, but it's pretty darn nice. Lacks the nice punch of the DRZ, but seems to be a better dirt bike overall. I'm going to write up some stuff on it for others are are thinking about one. Already put higher bars on and ordered dirt tires and tons of other junk for it. Seems like it will work well for these FL rides. Plan to use it for this BQF.

Tooled around in the woods behind my house today again, only a few miles, but yea, way way more fun than the bigger bike was. Lack of power was not a problem as it still rips it up just fine in the first three gears and throws hella roost all over the place - and ain't that what it's all about ; !

Ok. Here's what I'm doing (and, wiping my hands free of this next year; work has officially consumed me and I've done a crappy job at this this year ).

DATE: 2/21-2/23

WHY: President's day weekend is also the Olustee Battle Reunion weekend. Read: competition for site. And valentine's day or some crap like that.

Plan: Ride Friday, ride Saturday, shenanigans in between. We usually pack up and leave Sunday, but I'd be willing to lead a short day-ride with us parking in a day use area.

I will not be able to ride Saturday, but trust we will have several other people willing to get a ride out there.

At this point, it's set in stone. If you don't like it, well then do it yourself next year.
