Venice - bike storage?

If I stay in a hotel in Venice, where can I store my bike safely?

I know there is a big car park but is there somewhere secure for bikes?

Thank you

You might try looking in Treviso or Conegliano and take the train into Venezia. I say that, as these cities have less of a "transient population" than the area immediately surrounding Venezia has.

The ideal situation would be to find a local inmate who would let you stash your bike at his (or her) place.

Stayed in a Hotel on Lido. Bike was parked by the road side under a tree.
No problem at all.

If you want, I can help you. You can store the bike at my home but I live more one hour of train from Venezia St. Lucia train station.

Thanks everyone. Andy we might take you up on your offer, will obviously be in contact.

We would like to stay in Venice if possible (and depending on budget).

In Venice, you have two places reachable by bike : Piazzale Roma where are located the Garages - some smaller could be cheaper for a bike - its also possible to park the bike unguarded on a stairway in the north side of Piazzale Roma (easy to find, just look for the bunch on bikes... Usually its not risky.
The other place is Santa Marta / Maritime Station , where leaves most of ferries, there is possible to enter with bike (police/guarda di finanza checkpoint since as a port is "duty free" area ) with plenty of space to park , once it was easy to enter again Venice by foot ... Will check if still the same.

I have place to park the bike in Padova , in the industrial zone 30 kms to Venice
