Look at my carb needles. Which one is healthy?

I sanded on the one with s nipple to look like the other one. I made sure the length and and tapper is not changed.
They are factory pro titanium needles for 950 adv.

What do u think?

That is NOT what FP needles look like on the end.

Sorry, OP. Check out inmate Head2Wind's company- advmachines.com, for the proper carb set-up. There's really no comparison to a finely tuned motor. H2W has spent a lot of time refining the 950 for us. He's got it dialed in and he's great to do biz with.

You just can't sand those needles. Ever. At all.

Are you sure they are needles or is there a lot of shadowing going on? The needles look kind of like a large sewing needle without the eye in the end. Those look like chopsticks.

Is it even possible to sand titanium?

Another big question.. What would make titanium wear like that? Super titanium?

Good on you though for fine-tuning the tuner's needles

it is possible to sand titanium, however the ultimate question would be why? The FP needle, when coupled with the correct jets, works very well for a open filter setup. One of the challenges with altering a fuel needle like this is the smallest change in diameter will make a difference in the fuel delivered. When measuring needles, you need to be able to measure below .001 of a inch. FYI, that is pretty small.
