Gettin Dirty in December!

I awoke at the crack of noon today and looking out the window at the mostly ice free pavement I decided that conditions were perfect. I just HAD to go for a ride. The plan was to just cruise around town on the main roads dodging the ice and cinder patches and making a jam delivery to my friends at Atomic Moto. Needless to say I strayed from "the plan"....

I just kept going north east and found myself here. Soft sticky freashly thawed dirt. Wait!? Isn't it December? And didn't it feel like this last week?

Dustless winding rocky roads for miles with a few snowy patches.

I followed the power lines and crossed the trax. Saw a bunch of old gnarled juniper trees. They look like sculptures to me.

Sure felt like spring out there today!

The sun was steadly creeping towords the horizon and the light was beautiful. The ride was perfect!

NE of Bend airport? I can jump in that section just south of Smith Rocks and kind of follow the canal for quite a ways, possibly even as far as china hat.

Nice little play area.

I was out by the airport today and I thought it looked like great riding conditions. Unfortunately, I was working until after dark. I'm glad someone got out to enjoy the conditions.

As a side note, I'm always looking for riding companions during the week, if you, or anyone else, have a schedule that gives you days off during the week.

Ooh!

Good for you, I'm envious, but it's nice to someone out riding.

I've been getting outside shoveling sidewalks though.
