The SE is a better adventure than the adventure and handles single track better too, win win.

when it comes to the SE, let your heart do what it wants to do. if you go by what your mind says, you'll probably end up with a car... :)

my SE puts a silly grin on my face every time I crank it up. playing in the dirt just brings out the kid in me. every. time.

it's not the rational choice, but as I get older, I no longer want the rational choice.

now to figure out how to get a 1290SD-R in the garage.

Is that the new bike?.
Give us a ride report after your first rip.
I test rode 2 on separate occasions and hankered after one ,but the rational side of me said no......luckily I listened to my heart.

I figured, Id always lust after one. Now is the time to get one and be done with it. Thankfully this bike has been setup for a tall and heavy rider, granted the previous owner was 6'6 and about 300lbs, but the yacugar progressive suspension does not feel that hard. Im 6'4 and about 240lbs (gotta loose a couple more pounds),but still feeling toight!

I still have the Adv, but getting it cleaned up and putting it up for sale within the next day or so. I can always get another one down the line.

Ill post back, once I have a nice little ride done. Super stoked!

* speaking of the SDR. Im so selling the 950Sm for one of those!

My advice. Am I the only one?
Sell the SM. It's a single-use bike. Sell the 650, it's a pig of a dirt bike(yes I've ridden one).
Get a real dirt bike :) :) . 300 or 530 EXC :)
Keep the Adventure or maybe sell it and get an SE

The sm950 is my street bike. I use it to hunt down gsxrs and cbrs in the twisties. I have my enduro bike, a 2010 yz250 with a weighted flywheel wr gearbox and a rekluse.

I got the SE today.

It needed about $3k alone to complete it. While that was not really an issue , after thinking about it, I could just as well have kept the Adventure. There was still some fabrication work to be done too, not to mention all the neatening up and wiring. The SE I have now, already has every thing I need, including a tank with a semi decent range (I hope to see 400km)

At the end of the day, I could bring in a complete Rallye kit, have it fitted and have a Rallye replica too. It looks unique and cool in person, but I wanted to ride the bike a little over the holidays.
