you are just contrary to be contrary Wraith, how else could an argument start about the universal understanding of what a Darwin Award is?

This is the way I learned this as a kid. We just took them out onto a gravel road and ran them in for a few miles to scuff them up. I usually go easy for several miles after a repair of any kind, just to make sure it's done correctly.

Plus, as noted, I am going to go with what I actually SEE: the tire is shiny and waxy. You can see it when it comes from the store. Why the hell would you just throw it on and go? Anyway, BFD if it's a myth or not, especially since all it says is you should take it easy for a few miles after replacing a tire. That is good advice anyway: a guy is pretty well stupid if he throws his bike back together, starts it up, and immediately twists its nipples without even checking to make sure the repair was done right.

I'd like to mount up a set of new tires for Blurr and send him out cold on Summit main to see just how hard he runs. There's enough room from pit out to one to get a big bike hauling.

And don't forget to make double sure that the stickers are still on them also!

When it's always (the same) one man VS anybody else, it becomes pretty clear to me who has a problem.

Or wet. Nice track, but slippery as heck without some good SOFT scuffed in tires.

GET READY...........................mainly because the micro-structure of the aggregate has been polished off.

Since it's always the others who are whining and getting personal and can't explain their point of view, it's pretty clear to me as well.

Usually my sarcasm is very apparent. I'm trying to tame it a bit.

You are spot on about Rush Limburger. He stinks.

All of the others on all of the threads. Apparently every member of this entire ADV forum is at fault. I bet every member of every other forum you post in has the same problem.

Not passing judgement on any side. Whenever I find myself tempted to become getting caught up in argy-bargy of internet forums, I go read the following 3 words of wisdom. Works for me.
  1. Don’t argue with idiots because they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience. —Greg King
  2. Never argue with a fool; onlookers may not be able to tell the difference. —Mark Twain
  3. Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him. —Proverbs 26:4 (King James version)
