50 pages, glad we cleared it up.
Ian, Iowa

Edit-oops, 51 pages. Guess I'm part of the problem.

Baby oil. But make sure that it's made from free-range babies. The synthetic baby oil will make your brakes slip.

Well...I certainly am well over 50. In age that is. Now I wonder if I remove the OP and a couple others from the ignore list, will the page count for that thread match my age???

My one is: learn to feel your tyres and you'll know when they're ready, whether it's 10 or 150 km.
I stated that in page one or two do to a new tire profile, so again you like many have projected things upon me I have not said.

I will repeat again, cold tires in general should be treated with caution, older cycled tires those close to the end of their life are a real danger but even the idiots I mean people who sand their tires will often ride down past their wear bars and think nothing of it.

I'd rather have what I know about riding that be a babbling idiot.

Hell I'd rather have what I knew 40 years and half a million miles back than be a babbling idiot.

Your riding ability is suspect, but your ability to babble on as an idiot is well established. Now go away unless you actually have something in your amazing expeience to help other riders, and FYI, keystrokes do not count as miles ridden.

So I can help them like you telling them to all go out and ride hard on brand new tires, no matter how slippery they are?

More idiot babble.

By the way, you still haven't explained why the fact that I have been going out to test my new tires to learn their traction and handling characteristics for decades makes me a poor rider that should be culled.

We certainly will do what we want. The fact is that the majority who have posted in this thread disagree with you. You have not shown us any proof that your theory about new tires is correct. Many have posted examples showing that your theory is incorrect.

What more can I say?

I somehow feel the need to repeat my self that I crashed from a new tire with about one mile on it. Maybe the crash was a myth. :sly:
