Ivan looking at your map sorry i dont read russian but looking at it to google maps did you go to pankisi valley in Georgia? i went there but once high up in the valley no one spoke Russian (i only know alittle for directions ect ect) or Georgian but just Chechen. I did plan to head to some good routes i saw on google earth but got to lost and as i dont use a GPS for this part and locals could not understand me or me them i headed back to Akhmeta

I'm sorry, but I have not traveled to the Pankisi Gorge. We usually recommend to visit Georgia in Omalo (Abano pass), Shatili and Mestia, Ushguli.

Yes i went to Shatili, Mestia & Ushguli with Terry but missed out on seeing Omalo as i got to lost whilst in Pankisi Gorge.


The map i had with roads/tracks did not match up to what was on the ground so i got lost,,,,,, down side to not using a GPS i guess
