Beautifull, thank you for sharing

I'm planing my next trip for August 2014, the larger part in Armenia, and few days and Georgia.

I have only 10-12 days for these 2 countries.
Ivan, Could you suggest me some place or roads that "I have to see"?

PAolo

Friends, thanks for the kind words!
I wanted to show that the Russian Caucasus is interesting and safe.
Even in the province.

Hello Paolo!
If pressed for time, I recommend you go Mestia-Ushguli-Lentekhi, stunning landscapes, hospitable people:

But I am not an expert on Georgia!
And do not forget about the detour of Ossetia:

Yes Mestia-Ushguli-Lentekhi is a very nice route as i did it also, Ivan could you not of gone to South Ossetia from the Russian side in North Ossetia through the tunnel?

I was going yo go and went to Gori but Georgian side said i could not pass but for you as a russian passport holder you can go easy from North Ossetia as for non Russian Citizen you need to receive permission from the Foreign Ministry of South Ossetia. If you do not get this permission you will be denied entry to South Ossetia and i contacted/emailed them but never got a reply

Maybe next time,,,,,,,,,, also Abkhazia is on my list to visit however if someone does visit South Ossetia or Abkhazia and has the stamp in there passport then you can have big problems crossing into Georgia i think large fine or prison

My next trip starts April and still planning routes

Hi Pickup man!

This question is very complex.
I love the mountains and dirt roads.
Love ride through the mountain passes between the valleys (the Caucasus).
In Georgia, liked the combination of the war towers and snowy peaks (Ushguli).
In Turkey due to problems with the bike ride through the mountains failed, but really enjoyed nature Cappadocia, and here you can ride!

What problems with the bike Ivan?

I was going to get a 690 but alot of trips seem to have had some sort of problem with them where as the DRZ is like a Soviet T-34

Bike has become a bad start.
I just shortened the route and got back on the ferry to Sochi.
The reason turned out to be a small - bad contact!

Hi Wesley!

I have been in Abkhazia. Quite an interesting region, but very many tourists and it is uncomfortable to drive.
No problems for Russians in Ossetia, but I don't like there's political regime, also by Abkhazia.
In April here in the mountains of snow.

Yes friends in Sochi said its nice there in Abkhazia but i agree i dont like areas with loads of tourists (even if i am one) , after Sochi i was going to get the ferry to Turky also but then changed my mind last minute which happens quit alot with me.

I will be later than April in these areas as April is the month i start my trip. You have any trips planned next year?

Also what Camera did you use for pictures and also for the youtube videos, i had a ghost drift HD but battery died very fast and after one fall in Kazakstan it stopped working......

In Abkhazia on your motorcycle can go everywhere, Lake Ritsa and above up to the deadlock.
The village of Pskhu, Kodori Gorge (may need to buy a pass)...

Lake Ritsa

Pass to Pskhu:

About cameras and camcorders will not advise them to different tastes
all have their advantages and disadvantages.

The long trip need a compromise between quality and size, using the Sony NEX6 and Contour2+ with a protective cover:

Wesley, about plans for next year - in September I'll try get to Jordan
