Brisbane to Grandchester early bird ride 6am Sat 28th Dec 2013

EARLY BIRD ADVENTURE RIDE
BRISBANE TO GRANDCHESTER LOOP
6AM START SATURDAY 28TH DEC 2013

Meeting 5.45AM for 6AM start at Caltex servo in Kenmore (located here)

Before coming on any of these rides you must read and agree to the disclaimer here. These are informal social rides with no central organiser or any person taking responsibility for others, and you come on these rides at your risk. You'll need a backup plan for any breakdowns, make sure someone can collect you and/or your bike if needed and bring at least a basic toolkit.

Please read about our corner-making system and general guidelines for the ride here, and a general guide to safety gear here.

An early morning ride to beat the heat, aim to be back in Brissie before 10am. A mix of tar and dirt roads. It looks like we've mainly got experienced riders on lighter bikes so I think I'll throw in some single track... e.g. if anyone knows Old Grandchester Rd an experienced rider can get a big bike through there but might not enjoy the experience! If you are on a big bike or relatively new to dirt then you may find it a bit challenging...

If anyone needs a lift up that way from northern NSW or Gold coast, PM me or call, I'm going up tommorow night and staying in my camper trailer, if anyone wants to join me. My number is 02 6684 5395.

Just thought to put my hand up as it sounds a good ride and out my way then I remembered I don't have a friken bike since I sold the S10. Dam I will start having to get more serious about finding another ride sooner than later.

grid

no worries, gordo is parking his camper just up the road from my place outside the central parking district.
it looks like experienced riders on lighter bikes so i'm throwing in some single track and rough bits as well to make it fun. see the original post.

while legal, a fair few of these bits are "unmaintained roads" (read tracks) that go near houses and past properties with horses so prefer if everyone can be light on throttle on those bits.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO - what a ride!"
