Dakar 2014 - USA Contingent

Searching the Dakar.com brings out the USA contingent.

BIKES:
92 JOHNSON MIKE (USA) HONDA
167 HARDY PETER (USA) KTM
186 MUGGLETON KEVIN (USA) HONDA

CARS:
305 GORDON ROBBY (USA) WALCH KELLON (USA) HUMMER
318 BALDWIN ROBERT (USA) CODY QUINN ALEXIS (USA) ?
346 HAJAS PETER (USA) SELCHOW KEVIN (USA) BRENTHEL INDUSTRIES
429 TRENERY SPENCER (USA) STEUER THOMAS (COL) CAN-AM

No Quads or Trucks from the USA

We all know Robby Gordon, how about some information on the others.
We need to blow the horn long and loud for each one of them.
Their sponsors need to be known, thanked and supported !

Bummer...

Sorry to see Quinn in a car...course, can't say as I blame him after that pirouette 360 knack knack he performed last year!

He proved he could mix it up with the big boys even in his first Dakar.

It's possible that last year had an influence but my guess is that it was the repeated injuries over the last year that have prevented him from riding at the level necessary to compete in DAKAR. More likely he took the car NAV role to keep his NAV skills honed and stay close to the action. My bet is we'll see Quinn back on a bike.

Regardless he is a class act guy, wish him success for the Dakar this year and maybe next back on two wheels!!

Isn't it because he lost his ride with Speedbrain because the team dissolved/merged with Honda?

Ive always wondered why any of the big american truck companies dont compete in this types of events.... they would get great exposure right?
