Remove the rear wheel with the bike on the center stand (obviously). Then tip the bike bake on the tips of the swingarm. This will get the front wheel far enough in the air to bleed the cooling system and it is plenty safe. Tipping the bike back, the center stand can't fold up on you.
Funny, but I thought about doing that, but only after I had already put the bike back together.
Afterwards I thought to myself, I wonder why I've never seen anyone suggest this before, and then thought maybe because it doesn't work out so well... I'm just going to take it to the dealer. I normally like to do my own work, but just feel like this is one of those let the dealer make it right kinda things.
